Lisa Kuban, MA, LCPC, ASDCS, CCTS-I
ASSISTANT CLINICAL DIRECTOR
Lisa Kuban, MA, LCPC, ASDCS, CCTS-I is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and an Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist. She received her degree from Trinity Christian College with a master’s in counseling psychology and her Bachelors in Educational Psychology from DePaul University. Ms. Kuban’s clinical experience includes individuals and couples of ages 5 to adult who are experiencing issues in anxiety, self-esteem, relationship issues, trauma, depression, Adjustment disorders, behavior modifications and adolescent issues. Ms. Kuban also has significant experience working on reunification cases, and co parenting coaching. She has worked extensively alongside Dr. Childs on many 604B and 215A evaluations. Ms. Kuban has a passion for helping individuals who are experiencing mental health issues coupled with chronic health issues. She is also passionate about working with individuals to develop life and coping skills in a solution focused modality that will provide them with the ability to have healthy self-growth, quality interpersonal relationships, and a more fulfilling and positive life. Ms. Kuban uses a multi-modal approach to therapy that involves collaboration with individuals to establish the best therapeutic tools based on the individuals needs and personality. Ms. Kuban believes that therapy is not something that needs to be done only when an individual is in distress but also to maintain and be proactive about coping with the everyday life stresses that enter our lives.
Renee Russel
Psychometrician, Certified Life Coach and Art/Play Therapist
Renee is a dedicated psychometrician and life coach with a passion for helping individuals unlock their potential. With a strong background in psychology and assessment, she specializes in using scientific tools to understand personality, behavior, and emotional well-being. As a life coach, Renee provides personalized guidance, empowering clients to set meaningful goals and navigate life's challenges with confidence. Her compassionate approach combines professional expertise with a deep understanding of human behavior, making her an invaluable resource for those seeking growth and transformation. Renee has certification in both Art and Play therapies and the utilization of those tools to help children and adolescents express themselves when they are unable to find the words.
Alex Saldivar, MA, LPC
ASSISTANT CLINICAL DIRECTOR
Alex is a Licensed Professional Counselor within our practice. Alex earned his bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and his master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Roosevelt University. During Alex’s undergraduate experience, he ran support groups for fellow students on campus and completed an internship with Northwestern University’s Institute for Sexual and Gender Minority Health and Wellbeing where he assisted in the research of healthy sexual education programs for the LGBTQ+ Community. While at Roosevelt, Alex also completed an internship with Trinity Services, a non-profit organization located in New Lenox, IL, and worked directly with dually-diagnosed adults with intellectual disabilities. Alex is passionate about working with individuals experiencing issues related to anxiety, depression, autism, and mood disorders to develop therapeutic coping techniques and establish goals to help individuals lead a healthy life.
Asia Rios
Pre-Licensed Clinician
Asia Rios earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Saint Xavier University and later received her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. She is a provisionally licensed therapist and is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals across the lifespan.
While Asia enjoys working with a wide range of clients and presenting concerns, her primary clinical interests include adolescents, couples, and families. She also has a passion for working with autistic and neurodivergent individuals, as well as those navigating relationship challenges, family conflict, communication difficulties, and life transitions.
Asia believes that every client deserves a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space to explore their experiences and work toward meaningful change. She takes a collaborative, strengths-based approach to therapy, tailoring treatment to each client's unique needs while helping them build insight, develop practical coping skills, and strengthen their relationships.
David Stephenson
David W Stephenson has been the Chief Financial Officer for Dr. Alan Childs and Associates for the past 25 years, and has maintained an active and keen interest in the business and ethical practices of our comprehensive practice. More recently, David has been promoted to the Vice President of Business Development and Standards, and is actively involved in working with the clinical and administrative staff regarding best practices in order to maintain the highest level of quality and ongoing compassion that is maintained and upheld by Dr. Alan Childs’ practice.
