Lisa Kuban, MA, LCPC, ASDCS, CCTS-I

ASSISTANT CLINICAL DIRECTOR

Lisa Kuban, MA, LCPC, ASDCS, CCTS-I is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and an Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist. She received her degree from Trinity Christian College with a master’s in counseling psychology and her Bachelors in Educational Psychology from DePaul University. Ms. Kuban’s clinical experience includes individuals and couples of ages 5 to adult who are experiencing issues in anxiety, self-esteem, relationship issues, trauma, depression, Adjustment disorders, behavior modifications and adolescent issues. Ms. Kuban also has significant experience working on reunification cases, and co parenting coaching. She has worked extensively alongside Dr. Childs on many 604B and 215A evaluations. Ms. Kuban has a passion for helping individuals who are experiencing mental health issues coupled with chronic health issues. She is also passionate about working with individuals to develop life and coping skills in a solution focused modality that will provide them with the ability to have healthy self-growth, quality interpersonal relationships, and a more fulfilling and positive life. Ms. Kuban uses a multi-modal approach to therapy that involves collaboration with individuals to establish the best therapeutic tools based on the individuals needs and personality. Ms. Kuban believes that therapy is not something that needs to be done only when an individual is in distress but also to maintain and be proactive about coping with the everyday life stresses that enter our lives.

Sophia Papageorge-Karvelas, MA, LCPC, LMT, CIMPH

Senior Therapist

Sophia Papageorge-Karvelas, MA, LCPC, LMT, CIMHP is a multi-disciplinary licensed psychotherapist. She has a Masters Degree in Clinical Professional Psychology with a Graduate Certificate in Child & Family Studies. She is a licensed massage therapist and has a background in energy work, feng shui, and theatre. Sophia is certified in "Nutrition & Integrative Medicine for the Mental Health Professionals" (CIMHP), and recently became certified in "Functional Nutrition." These certifications allow her to focus on 'nutrition & integrative medicine' as part of her clinical approaches to a client's comprehensive mental health treatment plan. Sophia keeps up with her biannual continuing education requirements by obtaining diverse certificates in the field of Psychology, which include but are not limited to CBT, Gottman Method for couples, Gestalt, Neuroscience, Nutrition, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and more.

Sophia's clinical experience for the past decade includes working with individuals, couples, and family therapy. Sophia uses her knowledge of psychology, health, nutrition, & bodywork to help people reconnect with their best selves and flourish! She focuses on a mind & body connection. Her approach to therapy draws on her diverse experience and training, and true dedication to helping people transform! Sophia's passion is to work with people on their therapeutic journey and help them overcome emotional, behavioral, and psychological issues. She is deeply committed to helping individuals develop a sense of peace and well-being, enhance their quality of life, and improve their overall health. Sophia provides warm and caring support to those struggling with life's challenges in an empathetic, challenging, and genuine manner.

Alex Saldivar, BA

Assistant Practice Coordinator

Alex is a Certified Life Coach and the Assistant Practice Coordinator of our practice. Alex received his bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and is currently working towards his master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Roosevelt University to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. During Alex's undergrad experience, he ran support groups for students on campus and completed an internship with Northwestern University where he conducted research on healthy sex education for the LGBTQ+ Community. Alex is passionate about working with individuals experiencing issues such as anxiety, depression, and self-esteem to develop their confidence, social skills, and establish goals to focus on healthy development and success.

Lexi Dryier, MSW, LSW

Clinical Therapist

Lexi Dryier is a Licensed Social Worker who received her Bachelor’s of Social Work degree and a Master’s of Social Work degree both from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. While obtaining her Masters degree, Lexi’s specialization was in children, youth and families. She is currently working towards her license as a Clinical Social Worker. Lexi has previously worked at an agency where she conducted behavioral in-home parent training to parents who were involved with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services in hopes of reunification between children and their biological families. She has experience working with children, adolescents, as well as adults. She is passionate about working with individuals who are struggling with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and the overall struggles clients may be facing throughout their everyday life. Lexi’s goal as a therapist is to create a safe, empathetic and non-judgmental environment where her clients can learn, grow, and discover a valued life.

Jocelyn Foust, MA, LCPC

Clinical Therapist

Jocelyn Foust, M.A, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She received her Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Trinity Christian College and her Bachelors degree in Psychology and Art Studio, also from Trinity Christian College. Jocelyn has training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and began her career at a community agency offering individual and family counseling services and specializing in the crisis care system working alongside local law enforcement as a mental health clinical responder. Jocelyn's approach to therapy is integrative and client centered. She believes that our personal life experiences have shaped each and every one of us in a unique way; that very unique quality in every individual is something she strongly advocates to embrace. Jocelyn's mission in her work with others is to awaken hope and possibility into their lives, and promote healing in a safe, supportive and comforting environment. 

David Stephenson

David W Stephenson has been the Chief Financial Officer for Dr. Alan Childs and Associates for the past 25 years, and has maintained an active and keen interest in the business and ethical practices of our comprehensive practice. More recently, David has been promoted to the Vice President of Business Development and Standards, and is actively involved in working with the clinical and administrative staff regarding best practices in order to maintain the highest level of quality and ongoing compassion that is maintained and upheld by Dr. Alan Childs’ practice.
